Job Type: Full Time

The naval architecture technician acts as the primary technical resource for the production foreman and their team on a given project. They are the liaison between the production team and the engineering team. They are 50/50 production/design.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary technical resource throughout the duration of the project;
  • Be able to design various systems and equipment which he will be responsible for putting into production;
  • Refer to technical drawings and makes any required changes during production;
  • Collaborate with the responsible foreman; direct, prepare and participate in site meetings;
  • Provides oversight of all internal aspects of the project, including the execution of activities according to schedule, to ensure the achievement of targeted project objectives;
  • Report on progress and risks daily to the Project Manager;
  • Act as a reference for the foreman and his team regarding technical difficulties encountered;
  • Ensure the logistical coordination of supply in relation to the manufacturing schedule in order to meet deadlines and meet production needs.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in naval architecture technology or other relevant discipline;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a shipyard;
  • Excellent knowledge of drawing software such as: AutoCad, Shipconstructor, Delftship or equivalent;
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of French 3/5 (spoken and written) Preferred.
  • Passionate about the maritime field and shipbuilding;
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness and flexibility, because you will sometimes be alone to carry out certain tasks and solve different problems;
  • Being attracted to the technologies that surround us;
  • Good judgment and rigor to guide you towards solutions to resolve different design or production problems;
  • Meticulousness, precision, attention to detail, because you will have to design products with precision.
