Position Status: Full-Time, Contract (to March 31, 2026)
Compensation: $42,000 per year

About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and resourceful Job Developer to support the success of our Pre-Employment Project for Racialized Immigrant Women. This innovative initiative integrates employment training directly into the program through customized support, community partnerships, and work experience placements.
The Job Developer will play a key role in building meaningful employer relationships, identifying hands-on work experience opportunities, and supporting participants in their employment readiness. This position involves employer engagement, participant coaching, and collaboration with program staff to ensure placements are meaningful, inclusive, and aligned with participants' skills and career goals.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers, community organizations, and internal departments to identify suitable work experience placements.
- Source, coordinate, and match short-term work experience placements with participants' goals, skills, and career interests.
- Promote inclusive hiring practices and ensure high-quality, meaningful placement experiences.
- Collaborate with program staff to align participants with appropriate work experience opportunities.
- Provide one-on-one guidance and coaching to help clients identify career goals and navigate the labour market effectively.
- Assist clients in developing job search strategies and enhancing employability skills.
- Monitor participant placement progress, address challenges, and provide ongoing support throughout the placement.
- Co-facilitate employment readiness workshops and employer guest speaker sessions as needed.
- Track employer contacts, placement data, and participant outcomes to inform program reporting.
- Contribute to program planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in outreach initiatives, job fairs, and community events to promote programs and services.
- Monitor and report on local labour market trends and workforce needs to support program development.
Education and skills qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in employment services, social work, community development, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in job development, employment counseling, or employer engagement
- Strong knowledge of local labour market trends and inclusive hiring practices, with an understanding of the barriers faced by newcomers and marginalized populations—particularly racialized and newcomer women.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
- Skilled in employer engagement, work experience placements, and employment support, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all employment practices
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet program targets
- Multilingual ability is considered an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, employers, and community partners
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with data tracking and reporting
- Proficient with a wide range of software applications and digital tools including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual communication platforms
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle may be required
