Objective:

Reporting to the GM, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all hotel facilities, grounds & equipment efficiently and professionally

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for the upkeep of the Hotel Guest Rooms and Meeting Areas to meet the Brand Standards
  • Performs quality preventative maintenance of all guest rooms and common areas. This includes plumbing, painting, etc.
  • Organize Qualified vendors for semi-annual and annual building inspections, such as Fire, Sprinkler system, Generator, Boilers, Hoods etc.
  • Keep a record of Fire, Hood, Elevator, Boilers etc. inspections and Address Deficiencies to keep the property up to code.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with the hotel's life safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating issues that affect the security of the hotel.
  • Ensure the maintenance shop and storage are organized and maintained properly
  • Oversee the maintenance department and directly supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers.
  • Complete orders for materials needed
  • Keep a record of all Service Requests and any Incident Reports.
  • Available for on-call as needed.
  • Snow removal and grounds work
  • Interacts as needed with guests, contractors, and vendors
  • Service maintenance requests from guests and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Be committed to a culture of a "green" hotel and actively participate in initiatives,as well as seeking out opportunities to reduce, reuse and recycle.
  • Complies with all provincial and federal regulations about building and fire code requirements, health, and life safety programs.
  • Maintains safe work practices and the use of environmentally sound practices.
  • Follow all PPE requirements
  • Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications and Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education:

  • Must possess a minimum of 1-2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or residential complex.
  • Must possess knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Tickets preferred
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience in the same position is an asset

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifting - Under 50lbs 50% of work time, Carrying - Under 20lbs 50% of work time, Pulling – Under 20lbs 10% of work time, Bending, standing, reaching, and kneeling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is a hotel setting, which has the following conditions: a low to medium noise environment
