Community Support Worker I

SKILLS is a non-profit organization which provides a range of community–based supports to people with disabilities. Ten part time Community Support Worker I positions alternate 20-24 hour weekends, Saturday and Sunday 8a-6p, 9a-9p, or 10a-10p. Our wages are competitive, and we offer paid training. Starting wage is from $19.00- $20.17 an hour and is commensurate with education and experience.
The ideal candidate needs to have previous disability support worker experience, be resourceful, knowledgeable of community programs, have good computer skills, energetic and experience assisting with personal care. This position entails creating and scheduling community-based activities, while ensuring that the individuals attend these activities. Comfort with and knowledge of senior care would be considered an asset.
These positions are in various neighbourhoods around Edmonton. The residents vary in age from young adults to seniors but all are engaged, and active. The focus of these positions will be to help all of the individuals access the community to do the things they enjoy.
The successful applicants must provide a current clear Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Search.
