About the Role

Gateway Holistic Care Group is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-driven Outreach & Community Development Associate to strengthen our presence across Edmonton and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate has previous experience in disability services and understands the complexities families face when navigating supports for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.

Key Responsibilities1. Community Outreach & Partnership Development

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of Gateway Holistic services.
  • Build referral relationships with: FSCD and PDD caseworkers, Schools and special education departments, Settlement agencies and multicultural organizations, Healthcare professionals and therapists, and Disability advocacy organizations.
  • Represent Gateway Holistic at community events, disability resource fairs, and professional networking events.
  • Schedule and conduct in-person and virtual outreach visits to organizations, support groups, and community partners.
  • Develop outreach calendars and community engagement plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Create and distribute outreach materials including brochures, referral guides, and service information packages.
  • Support and coordinate open houses, family info sessions, and program tours.

2. Family & Client Engagement

  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for families interested in Gateway Holistic services.
  • Respond to inquiries via email, phone, website, and social media platforms.
  • Provide clear information on program eligibility, service processes, and next steps.
  • Assist families in understanding Alberta funding systems such as FSCD, PDD, and AISH.
  • Support families with intake scheduling and coordinate with the Intake Coordinator.
  • Maintain professional, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive interactions with diverse families.

3. Outreach Strategy, Service Growth & Capacity Planning

  • Identify neighborhoods, communities, and demographics where outreach can be strengthened.
  • Support targeted outreach for new programs and expansion areas.
  • Participate in internal discussions regarding service demand, waitlists, and program capacity.
  • Provide outreach insights for strategic planning and funding applications.
  • Suggest and implement new initiatives to improve outreach impact and service visibility.

4. Administration, Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all outreach activities, contacts, and interactions.
  • Track referral sources, inquiry follow-ups, and service conversion rates.
  • Prepare monthly outreach and partnership reports for leadership.
  • Keep CRM or internal tracking systems updated with leads, contacts, and family communications.
  • Support documentation for funding partners and reporting requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Community Development, Human Services, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years experience in disability services or social services.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta disability systems (FSCD, PDD, AISH) is required.
  • Previous experience in community outreach, stakeholder engagement, or program promotion.
  • Experience working with families of children or adults with ASD or developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Working Conditions

  • Flexible schedule including some evenings/weekends for community events.

  • Hybrid work option depending on program needs.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 24 per week
