Job Description
We are seeking a
Project Controls Specialist
who is relentless about clarity, detail, and results. In this role, you will be the
driver behind monthly forecasting and cost reporting
for a complex, multi-site environmental program compiling inputs, chasing down contributors, validating assumptions, and building the reports that leadership and project teams depend on.

You'll be a
critical member of the project team
, responsible for delivering the project controls and schedule-driven insights that guide key decisions. Your reports, analytics, and persistence will ensure that project execution stays aligned with both the schedule and the budget.

This role is ideal for a professional who thrives on collaborating across disciplines, engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure accountability to deadlines, and delivering precise, actionable forecasts that support informed decision-making.

What would you be doing?

  • Coordinate and collect forecast inputs from project managers, field coordinators, subcontractors, and vendors across the program.
  • Monitor and communicate with subcontractors, and suppliers as necessary to ensure proper PO administration, costing, invoicing and close out.
  • Understanding of IFS to extract project information, support on PO management and scope close outs.
  • Follow up and pursue late, missing, or inconsistent data while being persistent, firm, and solutions-oriented.
  • Validate forecast inputs against the project schedule and execution plan to ensure accuracy and realism.
  • Compile and build weekly and monthly project cost reports and cost/revenue forecasts, broken down by labour, materials, subcontractors, and services.
  • Perform analytics and variance analysis between forecast and actuals, and highlight trends, risks, and deviations.
  • Produce high-quality cost reports and forecasting summaries that support project decision-making and program-level reporting.
  • Facilitate weekly review checkpoints with contributors to verify current forecast accuracy and identify upcoming changes.
  • Support monthly program reporting, consolidating project-level forecasts into a clear, accurate roll-up aligned to the annual budget.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, cost forecasting, or coordination in construction, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of project scheduling and sequencing (e.g., P6, MS Project) and how it drives cost and resource planning.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and familiar with project controls fundamentals.
  • You bring a proven ability to collaborate across disciplines, build strong relationships with stakeholders, drive accountability to deadlines.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, thriving on pulling people together and getting what's needed to keep reporting accurate and on track.
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and shifting priorities, while maintaining accuracy and control.
  • A strong sense of ownership seeing forecasts and reports as your product, and you're driven to get them right.
