Job description:

Spark Freight System is seeking an experienced Safety, Health & Compliance Coordinator to oversee and manage compliance programs within our trucking operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety, health, and compliance policies and procedures in accordance with DOT and MTO regulatory requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
  • Handle driver onboarding, including hiring, orientation, and maintaining complete safety files
  • Conduct ongoing safety training and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards
  • Manage IFTA filing, plate renewals, and other licensing requirements
  • Prepare and support insurance audits, MTO audits, and internal compliance reviews
  • Monitor fleet safety performance and proactively address safety concerns
  • Maintain accurate and organized compliance documentation

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in safety, compliance, or related roles within the trucking/transportation industry
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and MTO regulations
  • Thorough understanding of HOS compliance rules
  • Experience with IFTA, plate renewals, and insurance processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite at our Brampton office
