What you will do
As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team by ensuring accurate financial data tracking, supporting strategic reporting, and helping optimize business decisions. You'll report directly to the Director of Finance and collaborate across departments to ensure financial clarity and compliance.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Process invoices, manage vendor relationships, and assist in billing and collections.
- Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with internal policies.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements, resolving discrepancies proactively.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all journal entries and month-end financial reports.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.
- Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling projects.
- Ensure financial data accuracy to support the creation of timely financial and operational reports.
- Support compliance efforts by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations (ASPE) and relevant tax laws.
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
- Provide financial documentation and analysis to support grant applications and fundraising initiatives.
- Prepare payroll to ensure accuracy, compliance with applicable laws, and timely payment to employees.
- Maintain detailed records of compensation adjustments and track variable pay components such as bonuses and commissions in accordance with company policies.
What your resume shows
Must Haves
- A strong alignment with Qohash's core values.
- Bilingual in French and English.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with AP, AR, payroll, billing and collections including vendor management.
- Minimum 2 years' experience of ASPE and financial reporting practices.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with financial systems and tools (e.g., FP&A software).
- Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs).
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA).
Nice to Haves
- Experience in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment.
- Experience supporting grant reporting or government funding processes.
- Preference for candidates residing in Quebec.
- Prior exposure to cybersecurity or SaaS financial operations.
