We are currently recruiting for a Carpenter Journeyperson to join the Buildings team in the Lower Mainland We're looking for a candidate that has experience with finishing carpentry.

Shifts are 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours/ weekends/ or possible afternoon & night shift) if site requires.

This role will involve the following:

  • Trim, fit, level, shim, and secure baseboards, mantles, window trims, door casings, and crown moldings
  • Build, install, and finish cabinets and shelves
  • Sand, stain, and polish wood surfaces
  • Utilize planers, sanders, jointers, and other power tools as needed to cut and assemble
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Fix imperfections; align joints, refinish, and repair as needed to produce a final quality product
  • Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • General site upkeep

Minimum Requirements:

  • Preference will be given to a candidate that has a Carpenter Journeyperson Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
  • Experience as a finishing carpenter
  • Certifications: CSTS & WHMIS
  • Fall Protection is an asset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
  • Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada
