Hours of Work: Full Time

Length of position: Term over 12 months

Under the general supervision of the Child Care Director and under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible to maintain and develop the children's program with their group of children at Emma's SpaceChildcare Center in the Kikaskihtanaw Centre for Women and Families. All Team Members must adhere to the policies and regulations as set out in the Parent Handbook and Child Care Staff Manual.

The successful candidate in the role of Early Childhood Educator – will be responsible for the development and safety of the children as well as the creation and implementation of developmentally appropriate programming.

Responsibilities:

· Providing a safe and educational environment for all children

· Programming for children utilizing the Play and Exploration principles

· Be a team player, punctual, reliable and have a positive attitude

· Support and work collaboratively with parents and all stake holders

· Communicate professionally, effectively, and respectfully

· Contribute to the planning and implementation of a Personal Program Plan

Qualifications:

Required:

· Early Childhood Education Level I (Level 2 might be considered)

· CPR/First Aid level C

· Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check

· Good written and verbal communication skills

Asset:

· Experience working with children in a licensed childcare center
