About The Role
Martello is looking to welcome a dynamic HR Manager to our team. This position will be focused on supporting the strategic HR objectives for The Martello Group as we continue our expansion and team growth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various functions of the HR department and the opportunity to assist in the development of programs and policies. This individual will provide a wide variety of general human resources. They will be involved in all areas of HR: performance management, health and safety, employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits management/administration, payroll and general human resource policy development and management.
What You'll Do
*Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition -*
Recruit, screen, interview, and facilitate hiring for all positions. Develop onboarding programs and new-hire orientations. Manage the recruitment process and initiatives. Develop and manage performance evaluation process.
*Payroll*
– Administration and process of payroll for all staff
*Education and Training*
– Update and revise current training and documentation, including but not limited to safety training, code of conduct, handbook, company, and government policies. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, changes in regulations, and employment law. Assist, consult and guide managers and employees on HR related matters. Assist in coordinating employee training and onboarding.
*Benefits
& Holidays*
– Manage and administer benefits program. Assist employees with vacation or sick requests and fulfillment. Revise, develop, update and maintain vacation policy.
*Health & Safety*
– manage the health and safety program
*Employee Relations*
- Full employee-life cycle HR support. Manage and maintain employee's personnel file. Manage all details and coordinate any disciplinary discussions, terminations and investigations.
*HR Management*
- Prepare, update and maintain contracts related to human resources activities. Develop, lead and implement HR related policies and programs according to best practices. Ensure HR objectives align with and support the company's overall strategy. Manage internal/external HR communications.
Qualifications
- University degree or College diploma with equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in HR
- Excellent communications skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of Yardi Voyager is an asset
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and health & safety standards for BC and Alberta
- Discreet with a professional attitude
