Island Technical Installations (ITI) is a full-service electrical contractor specializing in custom electrical equipment design/supply, testing and commissioning services, and low/medium/high voltage installations. Our trade staff consists of engineers, electricians, and technicians. We provide services for a spectrum of industries from heavy industrial such as mining and marine to commercial and institutional facilities such as universities and hospitals. ITI is a rapidly growing company in the Western Canada electrical market that is looking to bring on qualified and experienced personnel to take the next step in growth.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Power Systems Studies Manager, the Power Systems Studies Engineer will be an integral part of the Power Systems Studies team. This team is responsible for the production of short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies and ground grid analysis and designs.

This is a permanent full-time position based out of the Saanichton, BC office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of the Power Systems Studies Engineer include the following:

  • Power Systems Analysis with ETAP
  • Short circuit/load flow studies & reports
  • Coordination & Arc flash studies & reports
  • Load flow studies & reports
  • Technical report writing
  • Technical engineering support
  • Ground grid design
  • Ground grid analysis
  • Step/touch & GPR calculations
  • Mentorship/training of junior staff
  • Technical engineering support
  • Cost estimates and proposals

Requirements

  • Legally entitled to work in BC, Canada on a permanent basis
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training (EIT) with the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC).
  • Must have 3+ years of direct power systems studies and ground grid analysis experience.
  • Must have a proven commitment to safety.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of software.
  • Ability to multi-task, exercise good judgement and prioritise workload.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$118,000.00 per year
