Job Overview

Modern Aspect Construction is a growing company that deals with home remodeling projects and is getting into the custom Home space. We are seeking a skilled and versatile individual for the position of carpenter/ carpentry helper. This role is essential for ensuring high-quality construction and renovation projects, requiring a blend of technical skills and hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various construction methods and techniques. We operate our business within St.Thomas, London and surrounding areas within a one hour radius.

Duties

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to execute construction plans accurately.
  • Install engineered hardwood and vinyl click flooring, shower and floor tiles with precision and attention to detail.
  • Framing experience is an asset
  • Experience Installing exterior windows and doors & a variety of siding products.
  • The ability to hang interior doors, casings, baseboard coping, and other trim work
  • Experience hanging drywall and drywall finishing
  • Engage in heavy lifting and physical labor as required by project demands.
  • Collaborate with team members on restoration projects, ensuring quality workmanship throughout.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction or maintenance person roles with a diverse skill set.
  • Previous education in carpentry or a similar trade is a strong asset
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, flooring installation, tile laying, carpentry, woodworking, roofing, caulking, assembly, and heavy lifting.
  • Working at heights ticket is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
  • Valid Drivers license and reliable transportation is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
