Staff Software Developer, TestX

The TestX team's mission is to empower Robinhood engineers with fast, scalable, and reliable testing infrastructure. We build centrally-managed platforms that integrate seamlessly with every stage of the development workflow to ensure robust product quality and velocity.

As a Staff Software Developer, you'll serve as the technical lead for our TestX team. You'll architect systems that help engineers test at scale, reimagine our staging environments, and improve the reliability of all testing infrastructure across Robinhood You'll play a central role in scaling our testing platforms as the company grows.

• Lead the architecture and development of critical staging development environments (staging, load and fault, and other testing environments) used by hundreds of Robinhood engineers.
  
  
• Own scalable systems for integration testing, load testing, and continuous delivery across our platform.
  
  
• Build and maintain core technologies using Go, Python, React, Kubernetes, Buildkite, and AWS.
  
  
• Collaborate closely with engineering, QA/QE, infrastructure, and product teams to align testing platforms with company-wide initiatives.
  
  
• Mentor developers and set technical direction to help scale the Toronto TestX team.

• You have significant experience building and scaling large infrastructure systems—especially in CI/CD, testing, or staging platforms.
  
  
• You're comfortable working in Go, Python, and Kubernetes, and have experience with modern build and deployment systems like Buildkite or Bazel.
  
  
• You've previously led complex technical projects and enjoy mentoring others.
  
  
• You have experience working in cloud-first environments, especially with AWS and Terraform.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed.

$179,000 - $210,000 CAD
