Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Personal Support Worker (PSW) Instructor to teach and guide students through the NACC PSW curriculum. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, teaching skills, and a dedication to student success, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to provide compassionate, high-quality care in diverse healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging classroom and lab instruction in accordance with the NACC PSW curriculum and Ontario PSW Training Standards.
  • Supervise and support students during clinical and community placements.
  • Develop lesson plans, assessments, and practical demonstrations that meet program learning outcomes.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback, mentorship, and academic guidance.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and reporting records as required by the college and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

  • Personal Support Worker Certificate or higher credential in healthcare (e.g., RPN, RN, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 1 years of recent work experience in a healthcare setting (long-term care, community care, or hospital).
  • Teaching experience in adult education or post-secondary settings is an asset (but training can be provided).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student success and continuous quality improvement.
