Job Overview

Mississauga-area personal injury firm seeking a licensed, full-time (9-5) Law Clerk or Paralegal to work in-person. 1+ years experience in Torts and Statutory Accident Benefits is a must for applicants, but you can expect to work alongside experienced lawyers.

Depending on your qualifications, the expectations of what you can be expected to do may change. Some expected duties of the office include:

  • Communicating with clients, seeking information or answering questions they have about the status of their claim.
  • Assisting with client intake meetings.
  • Familiarizing yourself with the office's filing/organization system.
  • Making requests for file productions/undertakings.
  • Contacting clinics to coordinate treatment.
  • Drafting motions and statements of claim.
  • (Paralegal) Assisting, and appearing, at License Appeal Tribunal case conferences or potentially hearings.
  • (Paralegal) Overseeing and managing client claims (from filing forms, to coordinating treatment/assessments, to preparation for hearings and mediation) from intake to settlement.

Compensation/Benefits

  • Salary negotiable and variable depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. $38,000 minimum is highly unlikely.
  • Extended health care benefits, including dental.
  • PTO at standard provincial rates, prorated through the year.

Pay: $38,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
