The Role
The CNC Machinist manufactures a variety of parts using CNC programmable lathes and milling machines.
What You Will Do
Safety
Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow all safety laws, regulations, codes, policies, and procedures. Follow all tag-out and lock out procedures. Identify and correct situations that could jeopardize safety. Maintain a clean, tidy work station. Report immediately all unsafe conditions or hazards to the appropriate person. Stop work, or cause work to be stopped, in situations of imminent danger. Work in a way that won't hurt you or other people.Quality
Alert Machine Shop Supervisor to issues with product quality. Complete QC checklists to verify the quality of the product manufactured meets standards. Ensure parts are free of visible damage. Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, protractors, etc. to physically verify product quality.Productivity
Gather parts, tools, and fixtures. Maintain and repair equipment. Review traveler/job package. Set up jigs. Use hand tools and other mobile equipment. Machine parts as per instructions on work orders and engineering drawings. Program CNC machines by entering instructions and reference points. Set up CNC machines by installing tools, attachments collets, bushings etc. Verify settings by measuring positions and performing dry runs.Continuous Improvement
Aid in the development of production procedures where necessary. Continuously improve work processes and methods.-
