Location: Gold Pan Saloon, Whitehorse, Yukon

Hours: Afternoon and evening shifts (12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.), weekends required

Summary

The Gold Pan Saloon—a lively, well-loved restaurant and bar in downtown Whitehorse - is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations and drive kitchen excellence. This is a working management role: you'll lead from the line, maintain quality and consistency during service, and ensure smooth coordination across the team. You'll balance strong culinary skills with effective leadership - training and motivating staff, managing costs, and keeping the kitchen efficient, and aligned with GPS standards.

· The kitchen runs efficiently with smooth communication, strong teamwork, and well-organized prep and service.

· Inventory and ordering systems are accurate, ensuring supplies are available when needed and costs stay on target.

· Food costs are well-controlled, supporting both quality and financial goals.

· Health and safety standards are always met, earning confidence from inspectors and team members alike.

· The kitchen team is skilled, dependable, and motivated under your leadership -working efficiently, supporting one another, and taking pride in their results.

· Banquets and special events are executed seamlessly, adding to the restaurant's reputation for excellence.

What You Bring To The Role

· Experience in a leadership role in a commercial kitchen

· Strong culinary and line experience, with the ability to support service

· Skills in inventory management, ordering, vendor relations and cost control.

· Scheduling and labor management experience with attention to financial targets.

· Basic Excel proficiency for tracking costs, ordering and labour.

· Experience with banquet or event service is an asset.

· The ability to build a cohesive kitchen team that shares your focus on consistency, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.

· Calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure and a high sense of accountability.

· Strong organization and time management skills.

Job Requirements: Ability to work a 12pm-8pm shift which may include weekends.
