Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Director, Legal Operations and Corporate Affairs, this is a crucial, mid-level role that combines strategic procurement with hands-on contract management and supports legal operations. You will be instrumental in building and optimizing our processes, ensuring the company secures the best possible terms and value from its vendors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of negotiation tactics and key contract terms, plus exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong teamwork skills.

This is an in-office position based in our Toronto office.

What you will be doing: 

  • Manage the procurement process after vendor selection, handling negotiations, contract execution, and lifecycle management.
  • Conduct initial light legal review of contractual documents, leveraging AI tools to assist in the review process. All work will be overseen by a supervising lawyer.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all vendor-related transactions.
  • Act as a key negotiator with vendors, securing favorable terms and pricing to support company-wide objectives.
  • Facilitate and manage the internal approval processes for contracts, coordinating with key stakeholders in finance, compliance, and legal.
  • Drive budget vs. actual discussions for areas of the business with large vendor & contractor spend.
  • Design and implement scalable processes and best practices for contract management and procurement across the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, providing proactive support and guidance on procurement strategies and contractual matters.
  • Manage and optimize the company's contract lifecycle management (CLM) system, including leading implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective contractual and procurement solutions as well as ensure smooth vendor onboarding and management.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities to improve vendor operations.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, including system upgrades and process improvements.
  • Security-Related Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure access management is performed in compliance with the employee's role and responsibilities
  • Responsibility and accountability for executing League's policies and procedures within the department/team
  • Notification of HR, Legal, Compliance & Security of any incidents, breaches or policy violations
  • Compliance with Information Security Policies

What you will bring: 

  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement and/or contract management specifically in SaaS industry.
  • Skills: Proven expertise in negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts. A track record of success in putting new processes into place and driving efficiency.
  • Attributes: You are a strong communicator and skilled negotiator who can build rapport and work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical: Experience launching or managing a CLM system (e.g., Linksquares) is a significant asset.
  • Education: A law degree is not required, but a legal background or related training would be a valuable asset.
  • Bonus Qualifications: Experience in legal operations and/or working with AI in a legal or contracting context is an asset.

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for base salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. The salary range is intentional to account for the performance and career progressions a Leaguer will experience in the role throughout their time at League. Where in the band you may land is determined by job-related skills/experience. Work Location:

We have a mix of office-centric roles based in our vibrant Toronto office, and remote-eligible roles based anywhere in Canada or US. Each job posting will indicate where the role will be based. Regardless of the role's posted location, all Toronto-area Leaguers (living within 65 km of our downtown HQ) collaborate in-office Monday through Thursday. Depending on your distance to the office, you'll enjoy 10 or 20 Flexible Remote Days each quarter for focus and deep-work time.
