Electrical Solutions conducting business throughout British Columbia, has an immediate opening for a Junior Accountant. This full-time position is located at our island branch in Duncan, BC. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage the full accounting cycle for one or more corporate entities

· Prepare and process accounts receivable invoices

· Monitor AR activity and resolve discrepancies.

· Accounts payable; including data entry, supplier reconciliations, and payment processing.

· Complete bank and credit card reconciliations, supplier account reconciliations, and inter-company account reconciliations.

· Maintain and track fixed assets; calculate and record amortization and depreciation.

· Prepare and file GST, payroll, and other tax remittances accurately and on time.

· Process bi-weekly payroll.

· Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including financial reporting.

· Prepare year-end working papers for internal review and coordinate with external accountants to ensure timely completion of annual financial statements.

· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis to support job estimating and project tracking.

· Provide general office administration and reception support as required.

· Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.

· Reconcile monthly credit card and fuel card statements.

· Generate reports detailing accounts payables status.

· Use computer systems to maintain financial records.

· Answer calls and handle general enquiries.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

· Experience with Accounting Software Programs (Sage 100, QBO) considered an asset.

· Excellent written & oral communication skills.

· Ability to work as part of a team.

· High attention to detail.

· Some knowledge of basic accounting concepts.

· Maintains a positive & professional manner.

· References required.

Schedule:

· Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 30-minute lunch break.

Compensation:

· To be negotiated dependent upon experience.

This is an entry level position; however, accounts payable experience is considered an asset.
