Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our learning centre team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in science (including secondary-level physics and chemistry) and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.

This role involves teaching a wide range of concepts, from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus, while also delivering core scientific principles and problem-solving skills in chemistry and physics.

Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to different learning styles.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Science to students from Grades 8–12.
  • Prepare students for school exams, standardized tests, and academic success
  • Track student progress and communicate effectively with the centre's management
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and organization in all sessions
  • Assess student performance through regular testing and assignments, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Education, or a related field
  • Teaching certification or licensure in the relevant subject area is preferred.
  • Experience in classroom teaching or tutoring, particularly in science, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex concepts to students.
  • Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners, including those requiring special education services.
  • Ability to teach in-person or online at the learning centre location (not a remote position)
  • Familiarity with the Ontario curriculum is an asset
  • A passion for educating young minds and inspiring students to achieve their academic goals.
