Join a Team that Runs on Accountability, Team Health, and Operational Excellence
We're not just clearing snow, we're building a culture of ownership, precision, and service excellence. If you thrive in fast-moving environments, believe in doing things the right way (the first time), and want to be part of a tight-knit, mission-driven team; this opportunity is for you.
As a Salt Truck Operator, you'll be a key player in helping keep commercial properties, roadways, and public areas safe and clear through the snow and ice season.
Our company runs on Core Values which means we hire, reward, and coach based on values and "Right Person, Right Seat" fit. If you value clarity, communication, and continuous improvement, you'll feel right at home.
Perks + Culture:
- Immediate access to our Employee Assistance Program [EAP] (counseling, financial planning, nutrition + more).
- Health benefits available after 6 months.
- 10% discount at Mister Safety Shoe & Work Authority.
- Columbia Warehouse passes + seasonal discount perks.
- Team events, appreciation meals, and crew recognition.
- Future opportunities in other seasonal roles for high-performing team members.
What Makes This Role Different:
We follow LeanScaper principles — simplifying workflows, minimizing waste, and empowering frontline teams to make smart decisions quickly. That means:
- Clear processes with room for smart problem-solving.
- Continuous feedback loops (no waiting until "review season")
- Open book communication between dispatch, ops, and field operations.
- Proactive training + support to help you grow.
What You'll Do:
Conduct thorough daily circle checks (as per Ministry of Transportation Schedule 1) and report any defects or safety concerns
Operate salt truck and other snow/ice equipment to apply materials per site maps and service specifications
- Report equipment malfunctions and assist with basic maintenance and refueling
- Use mobile apps to log hours, complete tasks, and report service notes in real-time.
- Stay responsive to dispatch instructions and weather alerts; maintain clear communication with team leads and peers.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies, wear proper PPE, and contribute to a safe job site.
- Be ready to jump in where needed, we operate with a team-first mindset.
What We're Looking For:
- G-Class Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to drive and operate equipment in cold, wet, dark, and high-pressure conditions.
- Experience with snow equipment is a must.
- Reliable transportation to dispatch location.
- Comfortable using a smartphone for communication and reporting.
- Willingness to work on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during storm events.
Sound Like a Fit?
We're looking for people who take ownership, communicate clearly, and want to be part of a results-driven, respectful, and reliable crew.
If you're ready to show up, suit up, and salt smart, we'd love to talk.
