The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and cleanliness of Davina's Swim House and associated brands aquatic facilities. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in maintaining of facilities. An asset if you have pool maintenance experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance:
  • Perform regular inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of facility, pool systems, and equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled plan.
  • Keep up-to-date records of all maintenance done on equipment or machinery.
  • General Maintenance and repair of facility and equipment.
  • Water Chemistry Management: Monitor and adjust pool water chemistry, including testing and balancing pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and other chemical levels, to maintain a safe and sanitary swimming environment.
  • Pool Cleaning: Skim and vacuum the pools, clean the pool walls and tiles, and remove debris to maintain cleanliness and aesthetics.
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair any issues with pool equipment, such as pumps, filters, heaters, and control systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and conduct necessary repairs to keep the equipment and facility in optimal condition.

  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of pool and general maintenance activities, water chemistry readings, equipment repairs, and inspections performed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and report any incidents or concerns promptly.
  • Monitor inventory levels of pool chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Coordinate with the supervisor to order and replenish necessary items to ensure smooth operations.
  • Compliance:
  • Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing pool and other maintenance tasks and when handling chemicals and pool supplies. Identify and address potential hazards and implement necessary measures to ensure a safe environment for pool and facility users.
  • Training: Stay updated with the latest industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to pool and facility maintenance. Attend training sessions and maintain CPO certification.
  • Operational Support:
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members, including lifeguards, facilities staff, and management, to ensure efficient pool operations and timely resolution of any maintenance issues.
  • Required to travel between multiple locations.
  • Flexibility to respond if an emergency occurs for repairs & maintenance within reason.

The Skill Set

  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is required or willing to take within 6 months of employment.
  • Previous experience in facility and pool maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of pool systems, equipment, water chemistry, and maintenance procedures is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair pool equipment effectively.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and the ability to adhere to them strictly.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift 50lbs+
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record (required to travel to multiple locations)

Job Requirements

  • Availability to work on a full-time basis, in person, on a flexible schedule
  • Availability to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends, as needed
  • Ability to travel across locations
