Your Opportunity at ARC'TERYX:

As the Finished Goods Senior Gore Engineer, you collaborate with highly technical teams to execute and develop seasonal product plans from pre-season proof of concept to finalized finished goods toolbox, ready for inline execution each season. You bridge between manufacturing, product development and pattern making experts to ensure that testing and validation methods for Gore technical sets are consistent, measurable, and scalable for manufacturing.

Technical Sets are combinations of materials, technologies, and construction methods that require testing to validate feasibility, durability, strength, manufacturability, repairability, and disassembly. These sets include new material applications, assembly techniques, or sequences that have not been previously tested or commercialized by Arc'teryx.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

If you were our Senior Gore Engineer now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
    • Creating testing methodology, controls and standards for Gore-tex and waterproof breathable materials for finished goods technical sets for validation
  • Conducting the validation of combined materials, technologies and construction methods for feasibility, durability, strength, manufacturability, repairability and disassembly for seasonal execution team.
  • Partnering with Raw materials development and Product Integrity to identify testing parameters for finished goods.
  • Building tools to conduct in house-test capabilities to international test standards
  • Interpreting and adapting test standards and analysis of all test results
  • Studying new constructions for feasibility and influence its development by applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methodology including establishing optimal manufacturing methods, creating templates, tooling and fixtures and partnering with our in-house machine shop.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives and process redesign implementations as proof of concepts evolves.
  • Design and execute experiments to Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and partner with Product Integrity to deep dive into opportunities to improve finished goods quality through process design
  • Support sustainability, circularity, repairability, and disassembly through all aspects of Gore testing and validation.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes to achieve production performance targets for new Gore constructions
  • Collaborate with Product Developers in the design of Standardized technical sets.
  • Upholding Fair Labor Association's Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc'teryx supply chain.

    • Drive innovation in the proof of concept space by collaborating with Gore-tex head office and innovate testing technology and standards for finished goods
  • Work with T1 partners in standardizing finished goods testing equipment and tools
  • Collaborate with advanced concepts team to support future Gore innovations in sustainability and testing to end of life.
Are you our next Finished Goods Senior Gore Engineer?
    • You have a bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • You have 7+ years' experience as manufacturing engineer, or raw materials engineer, with a focus on technical apparel
  • You have 5+ years of experience working in an apparel or outdoor equipment industry with sound knowledge of garment or equipment construction
  • You have experience collaborating in a highly cross-functional role and leading teams through execution.
  • You master continuous improvement and are recognized for facilitating change.
  • You are an effective communicator and have the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities
  • You can embrace the ambiguity. You are flexible and you know how to initiating action. You have strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Building relationship is your other strength. You can balance autonomy and collaboration with strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal with difficult situation with tact and professionalism.

$94,000 - $129,000 a year

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD $94,000 - CAD $129,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
