Job Description / SHUTTLE DRIVER
Nature and Scope
Employee shuttle drivers are responsible for safely transporting clients and providing superior service. Drivers must have good communication skills both oral and written to interact with fellow employees, as well as the public they serve. Employee must deal with our guests in a friendly, courteous manner to and from their accommodations, as requested. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are required qualities.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Must have a valid driver's license. May require a commercial driver's license.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Organized, punctual, reliable and professional
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Calm, pleasant and helpful manner
- Excellent driving skills and habits
- Ability to communicate effectively with all parties
- Commitment to excellence in customer service
- Knowledge of attractions and venues in and out of town
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages and luggage up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Your primary duty is to get Best Western Plus and Stoke Hotel guests to the Regent Hotel to eat at either the Rivercity Pub or 112 Restaurant. Then you are to transport these guests back to the Best Western and Stoke Hotel once finished eating.
- When the 112 Restaurant closes at approx. 10pm, you are to transport Rivercity Pub and Traverse guests home. Best Western and Stoke Hotel Guests are always the priority
- We are not to pick up guest from their home and bring them to any property.
- We are not allowed to pick up random guest on the street
- We are not allowed to accept payment for driving. Gratuities are accepted
- Obey driving and traffic laws at all times
- Explains and promote hotel facilities and services.
- Provides guests with information, such as local attractions, events, and directions.
- Maintains customers' privacy.
- Ensures property vehicles/vans are clean and in top running condition at all times. Reports needed repairs immediately to hotel management.
- Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
- Drive safely, responsibly and be prepared for all road conditions
- Respect fellow employees, equipment and customers
Pre and post trip checks of the unit each time it is used (emphasis on ensuring adequate fluid levels)
Complete all applicable paper work required
- Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
- Communicate with Best Western Plus, Stoke Hotel and Regent Hotel Front Desks Agents at your scheduled time, prepared and ready to go.
- Fuel bus as required and record information as per procedure
- Don't let fuel go under ¼ tank
- No passengers onboard while fuelling
- Maintain a clean bus
- Complete & submit all pre-trips for all defects
- Must attend required meetings and other training sessions
- Report unsafe conditions. Report an injury
- Cooperate with the employer through involvement in all aspects of the health and safety management system
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Safety Expectations
- Follow OH&S regulations regarding reporting of unsafe conditions
- Correct unsafe conditions
- Make safety suggestions
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations and policies
- Know where registration, inspection and collision reporting documents papers are located
- Make sure you are well rested
- All employees are required to sign an authorization form allowing Beruschi Enterprises Ltd. to obtain their abstracts
- Drivers must carry their driver's licence with them when on duty driving.
- If the licence becomes lost, stolen or destroyed, operations must be notified immediately. A duplicate must be obtained before the driver may continue driving.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
