Job Overview:
Edenbrook College is seeking a
highly qualified Medical Radiography Technology Program Instructor
to train students in
diagnostic imaging, radiographic procedures, and patient care
. The ideal candidate will have extensive
clinical experience in medical imaging, radiation safety, and healthcare protocols
, along with a passion for education and mentoring future radiographers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach
radiographic techniques, anatomy and physiology, patient positioning, radiation physics, and imaging technology
. - Provide hands-on training in
X-ray procedures, medical imaging equipment operation, and radiation protection
. - Ensure students
understand and adhere to healthcare regulations, ethics, and patient care protocols
. - Guide students through
senior-level coursework in English, Mathematics, Physics, and Anatomy & Physiology
, as required by PTIRU admission standards. - Administer and evaluate the
Profession-Specific Aptitude Test
to assess student understanding and readiness for the program. - Ensure all students complete the
CASPer Test
, an online assessment of non-cognitive skills and interpersonal characteristics for healthcare professionals. - Prepare students for
certification and licensing exams
, ensuring compliance with
industry and government standards
. - Maintain
accurate student records
, including attendance, grades, and performance evaluations. - Stay updated on
radiography technology advancements, healthcare policies, and best practices
. - Support students in
clinical placements and work experience programs
, ensuring they meet healthcare employment requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Medical Radiography Technology
or a related field from an accredited institution. - Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
as a radiologic technologist, diagnostic imaging specialist, or related role. - Certification and registration with a recognized radiography regulatory body
(e.g., CAMRT – Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists). - Teaching experience or prior instructor certification (preferred).
- Strong understanding of
medical imaging physics, digital radiography, and radiographic quality control
. - Proficiency in
healthcare safety regulations, radiation protection, and ethical standards
. - Knowledge of
PTIRU admission compliance and regulatory documentation requirements
. - Excellent
communication, organization, and mentorship skills
. - Commitment to
student success, professional ethics, and lifelong learning
.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with
MRI, CT scans, and ultrasound imaging technologies
. - Knowledge of
Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
. - Ability to integrate
case studies and real-world scenarios
into the curriculum. - Familiarity with
medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, and patient interaction techniques
.
