We connect global data, market dynamics, and competitive signals into actionable strategies that help regional and country leaders accelerate growth and sharpen eBay's market position.About the RoleThe Senior Manager & Lead, International Competitive Strategy & Insights plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering eBay's competitive and market strategy across international markets.This is a player-coach role — blending hands-on strategic analysis with leadership of a small, agile team of analysts. You will set the strategic agenda, oversee key deliverables, and ensure high-quality insights that influence eBay's senior leadership.The ideal candidate combines consulting discipline, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership with the ability to guide and develop talent and lead cross-functional initiatives across a global matrix.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership- Lead eBay's international competitive and market intelligence agenda, driving frameworks and insights that shape global and regional strategy.
- Partner closely with International Markets leadership to identify key opportunities, competitive threats, and growth priorities.
- Translate complex data and insights into clear, actionable narratives that drive strategic decisions at GM and VP levels.
- Lead and manage a small, flexible team including contractors, and/or analysts.
- Define project priorities, ensure analytical rigor, and guide execution of insights and deliverables.
- Mentor team members, building a strong culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure delivery of high-quality, consistent market intelligence.
- Conduct and oversee competitive analyses, market assessments, and financial modeling to evaluate business opportunities and risks.
- Build and maintain market monitoring frameworks to track emerging trends and shifts in the competitive landscape.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Vertical, Horizontal initiative teams to align insights to support business planning and execution.
- Lead special strategic projects, often with senior-level visibility, to inform key investment and business decisions.
- Present strategic findings and recommendations to senior executives with clarity and confidence.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business and functional leaders across international markets.
- Drive alignment and momentum through collaboration, influence, and a strong results orientation.
- BA/BS degree, with 8+ years of relevant experience in strategy, consulting or insights-related roles.
- Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical modeling skills.
- Experience in manipulating large data sets, interpreting data trends, and crafting/visualizing business insights.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities, with a track record of influencing senior leadership.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Skilled at cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Strong curiosity in understanding internal and external trends and insights, and always looking for improvement in work and organization.
- Highly responsible and deliver on promises for organizational deadlines.
- Collaborative – be fun and easy to work with
- Mastery of PowerPoint and Excel required.
- Experience in retail/e-commerce preferred.
- SQL skills a plus.
- Top-tier undergraduate degree and/or MBA a plus.
