Role Type: Full-time, (Ottawa office + remote flexibility)

Reports To: Partner

Compensation: $80,000–$95,000 base salary (up to $100,000 for exceptional candidates with robust audit/NPO/condo experience), plus performance-based bonus

What You'll Do

  • Lead Assurance Engagements: Plan and execute compilation, review, and audit engagements for NPOs and condominium corporations, ensuring high-quality deliverables and compliance with ASPE, ASNPO, and CPA Canada standards.
  • Tax Expertise: Prepare and review T1, T2, and T3 tax returns, manage elections and adjustments, and handle CRA correspondence with precision.
  • Mentorship & Supervision: Perform first-level reviews of staff workpapers, provide constructive coaching, monitor budgets and work-in-progress (WIP), and ensure efficient resolution of review points.
  • Client Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, coordinating engagements, communicating timelines, and building trusted, lasting relationships.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continual improvements in file quality, documentation accuracy, and workflow efficiency to uphold the firm's commitment to excellence.

What You Bring

  • Credentials: CPA designation (completed).
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of recent Canadian public practice experience, with hands-on expertise with Private Enterprise, small-medium sized business, NPO and condominium audits.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CCH iFirm, CaseWare/CaseView, and Taxprep; strong knowledge of assurance and tax principles.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and time-management abilities to juggle multiple engagements while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Mindset: A proactive, client-focused approach with a passion for mentoring junior staff and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
