Are you ready to begin your career in the HVAC industry? We're looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice starting in out in our HVAC finals department. This is the start of your apprenticeship journey, where you'll receive hands-on training to becoming a Journeyman in the HVAC Industry.
To begin your journey as an apprentice, you'll be guided by experienced professionals and trained to:
- Install heating products such as thermostats, humidifiers, grills, ventilation fans, and other HVAC components in newly built homes.
- Confirm HVAC systems are functioning properly and meet manufacturer specifications.
- Identify and report any issues that require further diagnostics or repairs.
- Document installation status and support future warranty claims.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and builders.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean company vehicle.
What You Bring:
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Interest in residential HVAC systems.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean abstract.
- Basic tools (preferred but not required).

Our accomplishments are due, in many ways, to the commitment, drive and determination of our staff. WM Schmidt was one of the first to achieve the coveted Alberta Occupational Health and Safety "Certificate of Recognition" (COR) in the residential mechanical industry.
We have grown our staff to 90+ and occupy a 20,000 square foot workshop. We utilize 50+ company trucks to install heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and radiant floor heating systems in and around the Calgary and surrounding areas.
