BUSINESS ANALYST

The Organization:

Created by dentists, CDSPI is a not-for-profit organization established in 1959 with the sole purpose of arranging programs for the benefit of dentists who are members of CDSPI's member dental associations. CDSPI helps dentists and dental students achieve and maintain financial well-being by empowering them to protect and grow their wealth with customized financial advice, insurance, and investments.

About the Job:

The Business Analyst plays a key role in enabling effective management of cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams by working closely with the Senior Project Manager, Operations. This role serves as the bridge between strategic priorities and execution, ensuring that business requirements are clearly defined, change impacts are analyzed, and readiness assessments are conducted for smooth implementation of initiatives. The Business Analyst supports organizational efficiency by handling requirement gathering, stakeholder engagement, business case development, and documentation, reducing reliance on SMEs and improving delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead collection and analysis of business requirements across functional areas.
  2. Develop clear, concise documentation of business needs, processes, use cases, and system functionality.
  3. Identify opportunities for business process optimization and document current/future state processes.
  4. Draft change impact analyses and readiness assessments for cross-functional initiatives.
  5. Act as a liaison between stakeholders and project teams to align expectations and deliverables.
  6. Review existing project documentation and artifacts to reduce stakeholder meeting load.
  7. Synthesize input from SME discussions and support development of decision-making artifacts.
  8. Maintain updated requirement documents and ensure traceability throughout project lifecycle.
  9. Facilitate continuous feedback loops with stakeholders and project teams to drive clarity and reduce rework.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or other post-secondary education in Business, Analytics, or Project management.
  • Four to six years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role supporting change management.
  • Proven experience with requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Skilled in business process modeling and documentation of workflows.
  • Experience supporting change management, including impact and readiness assessments.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of information from various sources on multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders (ex. 3rd-party vendors).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Power BI, and project documentation platforms.
  • Experience working in a hybrid and cross-functional team environment.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid model: Work from home and the office
  • Attend CDSPI's Toronto office as needed in accordance with company policy
