Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing essential support to both patients and healthcare professionals. This position requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Schedule surgeries and office appointments. manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems such as Plexia.
  • Assist with the completion of insurance forms and other necessary documentation.
  • Process patient check-ins and check-outs, including collecting payments when applicable.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the office environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is essential for effective communication.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems, particularly Plexia is highly desirable.
  • Strong administrative skills with proficiency in office operations and front desk management.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and staff in a professional manner.
