We're hiring a Maintenance Technician (Electrician or I&C) – Calstock Power Plant (Hearst, Ontario)

Atlantic Power is looking for an experienced
Maintenance Technician
to join our team at the 38 MW Calstock Biomass Facility. This hands-on, safety-critical role supports daily maintenance, troubleshooting, major outages, equipment optimization, and plant performance.

What You'll Do:


• Maintain and troubleshoot turbines, generators, HV equipment, DCS/PLC systems, and plant auxiliaries


• Support major outages and ongoing performance improvements


• Lead and participate in safety, environmental, and process improvement initiatives


• Occasionally support other Atlantic Power sites in Ontario


• Work collaboratively with a strong, safety-focused team

What You Need:


• Licensed Industrial Electrician
or
I&C Technician


• 5+ years in industrial or power-generation environments


• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently


• Solid communication and teamwork ability

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Medical/fitness assessment

Good manual dexterity & ability to work safely with hand tools

Ability to distinguish wire colours & indicator lights (electrical/I&C safety)

Drug/alcohol testing

Background check
