What does a Financial Services Associate do?

FSAs work in a retail banking environment where they have a meaningful impact on the financial wellness of our customers (members). They connect with current and prospective members, understand their financial goals, provide informative and personalized advice, and recommend solutions and products to achieve those goals and enable financial success.

to our membership, including on accounts and deposit products, investments, and lending products and services (such as personal, small business, and ag loans and mortgages).

How will you get there?

Synergy's 12-week FSA Learning Program is based on experiential learning and strikes the right balance of structure and personalization. You will complete assigned learnings giving you a solid knowledge base and spend time with teams such as our Financial Services Team, Contact Centre, and rural branches. You'll gain valuable insight into our systems, the workings of each area, and the collaborative effort that takes place across the organization to ensure a successful member experience. All the while, you'll be gaining on-the-job experience, growing your confidence, and building the skills to make a meaningful impact in members' lives.

You're great at
(or excited to learn)

  • Managing a portfolio and partnering with current and potential members to discover their goals and priorities,
  • Advising and delivering on a variety of products and services to meet clients' unique needs,
  • Engaging in outreach, marketing, and follow-up opportunities to proactively seek out new business and deepen existing relationships, and
  • Promoting Synergy Credit Union within our communities. This includes engaging in business development activities, volunteerism, outreach activities, and participation in campaigns.


What you bring…

  • Recent or upcoming post-secondary graduation
    (between April 2025 and May 2026)
    in a related field such as Business, Finance, or Accounting.
    2024 graduates may be considered.
  • Great relationship building skills
  • Previous sales experience working with goals, strong closing and referral techniques, and pipeline development is preferred

  • Hours: Full-time; 75 hours biweekly. Flexibility to work outside typical business hours as required
  • Salary: $ $69 000 annually
  • Preference for candidates to complete the FSA Learning Program at Lloydminster Synergy Centre. Once training is completed, opportunities may be available at any branch location.
