Dishwasher / Kitchen Helpers
for the summer beluga whale season in July and August.

Job Summary
The Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper ensures the cleanliness and organization of Frontiers North Hospitality (FNH) kitchens by washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes, utensils, and equipment, maintaining clean workstations and floors, and responsibly handling cleaning chemicals. The role supports kitchen operations by restocking, assisting cooks, and completing additional cleaning tasks as needed to assist with delivering excellent dining experiences that align with Frontiers North Inc.'s (Frontiers North) values of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Previous experience is not required but is an asset.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; other languages are an asset.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Flexible and resourcefulness to problem solve challenges that arise from working in a remote, northern location.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience.
• Must be able to work individually and as part of a team.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Northern, remote location only accessible by train or air travel.
• The ability to travel to Churchill, Manitoba by air, and/or train is required.
• Commercial kitchen setting.
• Frequent exposure to high-temperature equipment, including ovens, grills, fryers, and stovetops.
• Potential for burns, cuts, and other kitchen-related injuries; adherence to safety protocols is mandatory to minimize risk.
• Must be able to stand and walk for 8-12 hours per day, bend, crouch, and climb stairs.
• Must be able to safely lift up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
• Must be able to work in close proximity to a variety of potential food allergens including, but not limited to citrus, strawberries and other fruits and vegetables, peanuts and other nuts and legumes, pork, poultry, beef, bison, shellfish/seafood, fish, and other meats.
• Must be able to work in close proximity to a variety of cleaning chemicals including bleach and other sanitizers.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and split shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime will be required during evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak seasons.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
