Job DetailsDescriptionThe Concurrent Disorders Service is seeking a temporary full-time Social Worker to provide mental health and addictionservices to individuals with complex Concurrent Disorders.In collaboration with inpatient and outpatient programs, you will provide clinical assessment, individual and group treatment,and education for clients and their support systems.The successful candidate takes initiative and finds creative approaches to challenging situations. They will also havesophisticated collaboration skills in order to effectively work within numerous interdisciplinary teams. As we establishourselves as a specialized, evidence-based service, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in serviceredesign and implementation.Qualifications Required And PreferredMasters of Social Work (MSW) – requiredIn good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) – requiredKnowledge of Concurrent Disorders – requiredPost graduate Mental Health and Addictions certificate - PreferredExperience with Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery – requiredKnowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA – required3 to 5 years experience providing psychiatric services in a mental health settingExperience supporting individuals with complex mental illnessExperience navigating community reintegration of longer-stay psychiatric inpatientsKnowledge of the unique experiences of marginalized communities and the impact on health outcomesThe ability to work effectively with clients of diverse backgrounds and identitiesExperience providing individual and group therapyExperience with crisis intervention and de-escalationExcellent interpersonal and effective communication skillsAbility to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary teamDemonstrated application of the OCSWSSW Code of EthicsProficiency in a second language is considered an assetAbility to perform the physical demands of the positionAbility to work variable hours may be required due to patient demandLink to OPSEU Wage Table -This is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.1 Vacancy AvailableJob Posting Closing: November 27, 2025 at midnight.
