Reporting to the Centre Director, you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team, supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. Your role will involve food preparation and cooking, following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Duties include heating food, preparing vegetables and starches, baking, cutting fruit, portioning, dishwashing, and delivering food to the classrooms.
  • Assist the Chef in preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary requirements.
  • Ensure proper food storage and disposal, maintain temperature logs, and comply with all health regulations and best practices.
  • Follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classrooms.
  • Uphold the kitchen cleaning schedule, including daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Duties and responsibilities may evolve depending on the daycare center's needs.

 What you need

  • 1–2 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience in a daycare environment is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A clean criminal record check is required.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day.
