Hiring 1 Early Childhood Educator and 1 Infant Toddler Educator
1 week ago
Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator and an Infant Toddler Educator to join the COTI team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires strong communication skills, classroom management abilities, and a genuine love for working with children. You will collaborate with colleagues, engage with families, and implement age-appropriate programming aligned with our philosophy that early years learning should be play-based and child-led and the curriculum should be emergent. You'll get 4 weeks of vacation right off the bat, we're closed for two weeks during the winter holiday and two weeks in the summer. Your lunch will be discounted by 25% if you choose to purchase from the kitchen, the savings comes from the owners who personally pay 25% of every staff lunch, we have the world's best Christmas party and staff engagement events, and we hire industry leading professionals to provide onsite workshops to our educators during our two pro-d days a year.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to early childhood development stages
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians
- Incorporate activities that promote language development, social skills, and creativity
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan classroom activities and school events
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and developmental milestones
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
- Manage classroom organization efficiently to maximize learning opportunities
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a local daycare or early learning centre setting is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, licensing requirements, and best practices
- Experience working with children with diverse abilities
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable, though not required
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (we use Lillio to communicate with families and you'll have to be able to do that as well)

- Familiarity with computer operation for documentation and lesson planning purposes
This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives while working within a supportive team dedicated to quality early childhood education.
