Company Introduction
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada's largest Asian supermarket chain with 37 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 14 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company's continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role
Reporting to Chief Production Officer or as designated by the aforementioned, the Prepared Food Department (PFD) Business & Product Development Manager is responsible to deliver sales of Bakery and Kitchen products from our Central facilities in all regions to Loblaw's enterprise, including its affiliated banners and other noncompeting customers which can maximize central facilities' production capacities. The position is also responsible for sourcing and development of new products for Bakery and Kitchen departments to increase departments' product assortment and differentiation from the competitors.
Major Responsibilities
Business Development
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining of business relationship with Loblaw's enterprises and its affiliated banners via timely and effective communication on product categories, varieties and pricing to drive sales and maximize profitability of the business.
- Budget planning of related business units
- Accountable for the overall marketing strategies and events planning for bakery and kitchen deli products produced or sell through central facilities of both regions.
- Work closely with Bakery and Kitchen Directors to plan and develop business through other potential and non-competitive customers to increase the sales volume of central facilities of all regions.
- Conduct assessment, analysis, and feasibility study of other new business initiatives as assigned by Chief Production Officer.
Product Development
- Working with regional managers and Loblaw's category team develop/source/innovate products/categories to meet market's needs.
- Maintain close relationship with oversea suppliers to periodically introduce trendy PFD products from Asian to expand PD's product categories and differentiation from our competitors.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the superiors.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
- Worked minimum of 5-8 years in bakery/food industry or experience working in food product manufacturing facility or chain store pastry operation is an asset.
- Have a well-versed knowledge on food ingredient sourcing/purchase, production efficiencies, P&L control, budgeting, and event planning.
