Landscape Operations Manager

Distinct Landscape Group is a fast-growing, community-focused landscape company serving Brockville and Prescott. We're building a strong multi-division operation that includes landscaping, maintenance, snow, and a growing retail depot business. Our goal over the coming years is to expand our locations, strengthen our systems, and develop a team that leads with professionalism, accountability, and pride. Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day operations across all divisions, ensuring crews are prepared, scheduled, productive, and delivering consistently high-quality work. This role bridges office planning with field execution—providing leadership, troubleshooting on job sites, coordinating logistics, and supporting sales for projects & maintenance contracts.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, proactive, and committed to developing team members into accountable, high-performing players. They must be someone who plans ahead, sets clear expectations, and ensures daily execution happens without delay or confusion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, motivate, and hold all field staff accountable to company standards.
- Build a strong team culture based on clarity, respect, and performance.
- Coach employees to improve skills, productivity, and decision-making.
- Address performance concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure each crew member understands their daily tasks and required outcomes.
2. Daily Operational Planning
- Prepare a detailed daily plan for all crews before the morning meeting.
- Conduct a morning launch meeting that starts on time—no exceptions.
- Ensure crews are planned, loaded, and leaving the yard promptly each day
- Confirm materials, tools, equipment, and job information are ready in advance.
- Plan several days ahead to avoid delays, shortages, or reactive decision-making.
- Anticipate workload, staffing needs, truck/equipment availability, and weather conditions.
3. Job Site Coordination & Quality Control
- Visit job sites daily to perform quality checks and provide support.
- Troubleshoot issues, clarify plans, and assist with layout or setup when needed.
- Ensure interlock, grading, maintenance, and snow teams are meeting standards.
- Confirm all work is completed efficiently, safely, and within budgeted hours.
- Ensure customers receive a professional and positive experience.
4. Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain consistent communication with the owner and crew leaders.
- Clearly communicate schedule changes, priorities, or issues.
- Ensure crews always know what is expected and who is responsible for what.
- Document issues, delays, material shortages, or customer updates.
- Serve as the point of contact between the office and field staff.
5. Sales & Client Interaction
- Provide estimates, proposals, or quotes for smaller landscape projects.
- Meet with clients when needed to clarify scope or adjust plans.
- Ensure accurate job costing and proper job setup in the system.
6. Administrative & Management Tasks
- Track KPIs for each division (maintenance, landscaping, depot, snow).
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training field staff.
- Participate in weekly operations meetings with owner.
- Monitor equipment condition and coordinate repairs.
- Review timesheets, job hours, and workflow for efficiency improvements.
- Maintain accountability systems and follow established procedures.

- 3+ years in landscape operations or construction management

- Valid G license: AR or equipment experience is an asset
- Comfortable with technology, CRM systems, and digital scheduling tools
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
