The Administrator plays a vital role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional Elder care, honouring cultural practices, and nurturing a positive and supportive environment for staff.*Key Responsibilities*Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the long-term care homeEnsure compliance with provincial regulations and standards of careFoster a culture rooted in respect, dignity, cultural safety, and Elder-centered careManage budgets, staffing, and resource allocationCollaborate with families, healthcare providers, community partners, and Elders' CouncilsLead quality improvement initiativesPromote staff development and retention through mentorship, training, and cultural learning*Qualifications*An Indigenous Leader from Unama'ki, with preference given to Community Members of Eskasoni BandCurrent Registered Nurse Registration with the Nova Scotia College of NursesMinimum 5 years of leadership experience in long-term care, healthcare administration, or relevant managerial experienceKnowledge of Nova Scotia's long-term care regulations and standardsDemonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex operations, and build strong community relationshipsSolid communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsLeadership in Continuing Care Certificate or willingness to obtainProficiency in Mi'kmaw considered a strong assetValid NS Driver's Licence and access to transportationAbility to provide a Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector ScreeningWela'lin—thank you—for considering this opportunity to support, honour, and uplift our Elders.Nemultes.
