What is the Opportunity? 

We are a trusted provider of end-to-end integrated Urban Transportation Solutions. From Light Rail Transit (LRT) to subways and commuter rail systems, Aecon's expansive resources for planning, engineering, procuring, building and commissioning large-scale infrastructure projects means we can handle all aspects of a transit project, from conception through operation.

Aecon is seeking an Interface and Integration Director to join the Urban Transportation Solutions group to support dynamic transit projects in Canada. PS: The successful candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to Quebec City.

What You'll Do Here: 

Execute Systems Engineering processes to deliver successful project outcomes, including requirements management, interface management, validation and verification, configuration management and progressive assurance.Lead teams responsible for design, procurement, installation, integration, configuration, testing, and commissioning of transit Systems.Lead the integration and interface of the Systems with civil structures, elevated guideways, tunnels, stations, O&M facilities, as well as with the existing rail transit systems in revenue operation.Ensuring the various project/segment teams comply with the system lifecycle processes defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288.Manage multi-disciplinary internal engineering resources on the project.Manage the successful delivery of Design and Construction Interface requirements.Effectively communicate expectations, track performance of engineering teams and subcontractors, and take proactive measures to address technical challenges.Engage with the Testing and Commissioning team at key stages to ensure success of the Testing and Commissioning program.Interface with the Systems Design Team and others to determine schedules, monitor design progress, support systems integration, and coordinate the procurement, installation and T&C activities.Provide oversight and support for various stages of systems testing.Support various transit related pursuits from the perspective of Systems Integration.Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging. 

What You Will Bring To The Team:

Minimum 20 years of experience in the rail transit sector in a leadership role managing project systems components.Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.Completion of a diploma or degree in Engineering or Construction Management.Preference will be given to licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).Understanding of Private Public Partnership (P3) and other typical contractual structures for the delivery of rail and transit infrastructure projects.Direct working knowledge of trackwork systems, as well as other rail systems such as signaling and automatic train controls, communications systems, and propulsion power supply systems.Experience with AREMA, ISO, CENELEC, MIL-STD, and IEEE standards.Knowledge of Progressive Design and Build models and other typical contractual structures for the delivery of rail and transit infrastructure projects.Proven experience managing large, complex rail or transit infrastructure projects in a client-facing leadership role.Deep understanding of systems engineering, systems assurance, and interface management in a rail environment.Knowledge of applicable legislative and regulatory requirements governing passenger rail transit projects.Knowledge of project management principles and practices sufficient to lead cross functional teams and consultants, including budget and schedule control and planning work programs.Direct working knowledge of trackwork systems, as well as other rail systems such as signaling and automatic train controls, communications systems, and propulsion power supply systems.An extensive technical knowledge of systems design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning and application of Systems Engineering processes.Sound judgement, highly developed interpersonal skills, well developed organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and Outlook packages).Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
