About Us
As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
What You'll Do Here
- Prepare fabrication drawings, quantity calculations, 3D models for application in Machine Control applications
- Report on and participate in continuous improvement of key metrics
- Prepare drafting plans
- Provide drafting support for tooling, fabrication templates, and inspection
- Provide clear communication with client in a professional manner
- Liaises with design partners, trades supervision and project team members
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
- Problem-solve as-built conditions and contribute to solutions with the project team
What You Bring To The Team
- Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology from NAIT (or another accredited post-secondary institution) OR Post-secondary education in design field, Civil/Mechanical Engineering or Architectural program
- Proficient in Autodesk Suite (Inventor, Fusion, AutoCAD)
- Knowledge and experience with piping systems, structural systems, and fabrication drafting
- Minimum 7 years' experience in Drafting/Engineering Design role
- Knowledge and experience in Pipeline/Heavy Civil construction and methodology
- Ability to interpret field data and rough sketches in a fast pace setting
- Exceptional attention to detail, specifically pertaining to completeness and accuracy of drawings
- Strong computer skills and proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Word, Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Proven organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines and tasks within a high-pressure work environment
- Ability to work in Shop/Field conditions
- Self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities and work cooperatively in a team environment
- Excellent safety and attendance record and previously demonstrated strong safety awareness
