Scope:
TTM offers summer internships to qualified Engineering students looking to gain professional experience in the field of Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in a manufacturing environment. Internships help build your professional credentials by providing meaningful, practical, on-the-job training and experiences.

Opportunities exist throughout TTM and are available to students who are motivated to learn and grow. Students in our internship program provide tremendous value to our organization through increased productivity, introduction of innovative, fresh ideas and talent, and often become reliable and skilled permanent employees.

The TTM Internship Program is geared toward conscientious students who are entering into their final year of their Diploma or Degree program. It is a stimulating and rewarding experience, helping the student make the transition from school to work and career while motivating the student for a potential manufacturing, engineering and technology future. Participating in one of our internships is also invaluable in establishing a network within the company.

Program Outline:

  • Internship is project based, deliverable within the summer period of May to August 2026
  • Interns are assigned a manager/champion to help guide and serve as a resource
  • Interns will present opening, mid-review, and closing presentations to the site and regional leadership team
  • Offers opportunities for professional, career, and leadership development
  • Successful program completion may lead to an early employment offer upon graduation

Eligibility:

  • Must be pursuing a Diploma/Certificate/Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent, knowledge of robotics, and returning to final year/semester of studies in September 2026 with an expected graduation date no later than June 2027

Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, the Intern will be responsible for:

  • Work collaboratively in a team to implement manufacturing process improvements
  • Collaborate with program mentors and champions to identify best methods for automating processes
  • Utilize a structured engineering approach to deploy best practices for process control and to improve yields
  • Initiate and/or update documentation of processes into work instructions
  • Compare existing manufacturing practices with external benchmarks and best practices and propose appropriate improvements. Maintains knowledge on current industry standards
  • Leads capital project efforts to resolve production capacity and technology capability issues
  • Present multiple project updates to the local leadership team
  • Limited travel required for workshops and trade shows

EHSS Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all EHSS policies and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), LOTO, Smoking, Noise Abatement, etc.
  • Regularly inspect equipment for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, near-misses, spills, leaks, incidents or injuries immediately.
  • Support initiatives to minimize waste and reduce energy consumption in operations
  • Comply with local, provincial and federal regulations (e.g. waste disposal, emissions and waste usage)
  • Ensure proper waste segregation (such as paper, plastic, gloves, filters, pops and cans, etc.), recycling and disposal in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Participate in the company's EMP (environmental management programs) and waste reduction strategies, including reuse and recycling programs.
  • Attend all EHSS training and keep up to date with EHSS laws and best practices.
  • Participate in regular environmental audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Work closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) teams to ensure alignment with company-wide environmental goals and initiatives.
  • Adhere to Security policies and programs, such as ID badges, sign-in and access control procedures.
  • Participate in emergency drills and ensure familiarity with evacuation routes and procedures.
  • Be aware of the "CLEAN" acronym used in the EMS policy

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrated understanding with robotic grasping and handling mechanism
  • Demonstrated ability to handle unknown variables with independent research
  • Self-motivated, good communicator and capable of working independently while handling fluctuating workloads with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strongly organized analytical thinker with ability to maintain keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Prepared to work in an environment with a steep learning curve
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment (heat/humid, dust, noise, vibration, and hazardous chemicals exposure)

Please note that due to Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements, all applicants must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident in Canada.
Compensation:
Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that my be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.

Export Statement:
Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
