Job Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Small Engine Mechanic to work primarily on snowblowers and tractors. This role is perfect for a retired mechanic or someone who wants relaxed, flexible part-time work in a low-pressure environment while still using their skills.

You'll handle repairs, tune-ups, carburetor cleaning/rebuilding, diagnostics, and maintenance on various small engines.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair snowblowers, tractors, and other small-engine equipment
  • Clean, rebuild, and tune carburetors (must be experienced)
  • Perform seasonal maintenance (oil changes, belts, augers, spark plugs, fuel lines, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot engine performance issues
  • Complete work orders accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Occasionally assist with customer equipment drop-offs/pick-ups

Qualifications

  • Experience with small engines is required (Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kohler, Tecumseh, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of carburetors, fuel systems, and basic diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Mechanical background (e.g., automotive, heavy equipment, small engine) strongly preferred
  • Retired mechanics are highly encouraged to apply

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
