Location: Mississauga – Hybrid – 3 days/week

Term: 6 months contract plus extension

Description

This role is accountable for transforming data governance, modernizing infrastructure, and streamlining the Data Operating Model to ensure Markets Business Domains adhere to Client's Data Governance Policy and possess effective data management tools. The Lead will collaborate extensively with senior management and various cross-functional teams (Technology, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Compliance) to achieve critical Data Governance outcomes and support Article V Consent Order, requiring strong interpersonal, data analysis, and project management skills to navigate complex initiatives under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Drive the establishment of robust business data requirements, ensuring alignment with external regulatory commitments across diverse business functions and teams.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and relationship management across key internal and external organizations, including Markets Business, the Enterprise Data Office (EDO), and various working groups.
• Develop and deliver clear, concise, and impactful executive-level communications and progress reports for working groups, steering committees, and senior leadership, specifically ensuring the successful delivery of regulatory commitments.
• Oversee the implementation and interpretation of client's Data Governance Policy within Markets, facilitating effective communication and adherence across Markets Domain Managers and supporting teams.
• Manage and deliver multiple data initiatives, encompassing data requirements, issues management, data quality rules, lineage, and taxonomy, ensuring comprehensive front-to-back project planning and artifact generation.
• Proactively identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely resolution and successful project delivery.
• Effectively manage ad-hoc requests, project planning, and communications, adapting to evolving priorities.
• Promotes partner involvement through effectively communicating project status across a varied set of stakeholders.
• Defining, teaching, and enforcing the use of good project management practices (i.e., resolving complex, interdependent activities into tasks and sub-tasks that are documented, monitored and controlled).

• Expertise in project and program management, including end-to-end planning, risk management, and the ability to gain consensus and drive initiatives to completion.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing structured business/operational processes and developing comprehensive business requirements documentation.

Communication & Influence

• Superior verbal and written communication skills, capable of delivering effective messages to diverse audiences, from technical colleagues to senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions, build consensus, influence stakeholders, and mobilize cross-functional teams in a co-operative and collaborative environment.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to inspire and motivate delivery across trading, support, infrastructure, and control functions.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Data Lineage and Architecture experience a plus.
• Experience on regulatory programs preferred.
• Markets knowledge (e.g., risk and controls, trade lifecycle, products, etc.) a plus.
• Big 4 experience preferred but not required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in business, data or information management related discipline preferred or equivalent experience in related field.
