Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Superintendent to oversee construction of 3-storey, multi-unit building from inception to completion in Sault Ste. Marie. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and proficiency in various construction management software. We are looking for someone who resides in close proximity to the project.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to facilitate effective communication and project execution.
  • Review blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements and ensure accurate implementation.
  • Conduct regular quality control inspections to maintain high standards of workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, including estimating costs and monitoring expenses to prevent overruns.
  • Supervise site personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient work practices.
  • Prepare daily reports on site activities, progress updates, and any issues that arise during construction.
  • Utilize various software for project management, scheduling, documentation, etc.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and budgeting processes.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics for effective project execution.
  • Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining quality control throughout all phases of construction.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications in construction management or safety training are advantageous.
