We are seeking a skilled and experienced Security Architect to join a cybersecurity and risk management team. The role involves designing secure IT solutions, evaluating emerging technologies, and leading initiatives that enhance the organization's cybersecurity maturity. The successful candidate will work closely with solution architects, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure security is embedded across infrastructure and application landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:


• Participate in project design reviews to ensure alignment with security standards.


• Collaborate on cloud security requirements and integration of endpoint, network, and cloud solutions.


• Analyze current environments to identify deficiencies and recommend improvements.


• Evaluate industry best practices and emerging technologies for security impact.


• Provide leadership in adapting security architecture to evolving business needs.


• Partner with solution architects to select technology standards and configurations.


• Ensure data/information assets are identified and securely leveraged.


• Balance access to information with security and performance requirements.


• Embed information security into architecture solutions to meet compliance and mitigate risks.


• Prepare security advisories and support risk, governance, compliance, and operations functions.


• Lead upgrades, renewals, and redesigns of critical infrastructure.


• Advise on retirement of legacy environments and risk mitigation strategies.


• Support other security and architecture initiatives as assigned.

Mandatory Qualifications:


• Demonstrated experience in solutions architecture and/or IT design.


• Availability to work 100% onsite at the designated location upon contract start.

Rated Qualifications:


• Experience with local government or similar entities, including understanding of technical and business landscapes.


• Proven track record as lead architect or subsystem owner using formal IT methodologies and security frameworks.


• In-depth knowledge of ISO 27001 or equivalent security frameworks.


• Experience in DevSecOps operations and automation for enterprise environments.


• Familiarity with multiple architecture methodologies and ability to compare them.


• Broad technical knowledge and secure implementation experience across technologies.


• Formal training in recognized IT design methodologies and practical implementation experience.


• Multiple project experiences in solution architecture.


• Application of current trends in integrations, data management, and governance.


• Full lifecycle experience as an IT Architect (strategy to management).


• Leadership in incident and problem management across teams.


• Architecture-related certifications (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA) are considered assets.


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field is an asset.


• Formal project management training is an asset.

Preferred Certifications:


• TOGAF, SABSA, or similar industry-recognized architecture certifications.
