NOTE:
Candidate must either be a Canadian citizen or hold a permanent residence visa for Canada.
General Responsibilities – Field Service Specialist
- Installation Supervision and Commissioning (start-up service).
- Project documentation support and design integration review.
- Technical interface with engineering design team.
- Technical interface to customers and 3
rd
parties related to NERC/WECC submittals. - Technical and troubleshooting support to customers and factory personnel.
- Customer training (on-site and remote).
- Factory testing at our manufacturing partner in Houston, TX (on-site and remote).
- Travel will be required approximately 50% of the time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering.
- More than five (5+) years of Field Service experience and background in power generation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and customer relations.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and efficiently.
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must be eligible to travel to US and hold a valid Driver's License (Canada or US).
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
Additional Qualifications
These qualifications are not required but will be considered an advantage towards being a successful candidate:
- Background in power generation or utilities with specific experience in Excitation or Governor system.
- Fluent in written and spoken French, Spanish, or Portuguese.
- General knowledge in hydro governors, digital controls and hydraulics.
