The Child Care Worker (CCW) works to care for young children whose parents are attending a program at the Centre. The CCW works on an as needed basis in the EarlyOn location at Carlington CHC and in community locations, alongside RECE's, to support the playgroups and programs offered through the EarlyOn programs.
Program-Related Activities
- Assists in the set-up with age appropriate activities.
- Participates in all activates and transitions to ensure smooth running of the program.
- Engages children in developmentally appropriate activities.
- Performs all necessary set up and clean up functions, including toy cleaning and disinfecting as requested.
- May contact parents if required.
- Prepares and serves a snack if required.
- Works respectfully and responsively with children and their families and caregivers
- Ensures a safe and secure environment.
- Maintains awareness of children's allergies and takes appropriate precautionary measures.
- Models appropriate child guidance techniques.
- Provides direct supervision to the children.
- Participates in assigned administration duties (including but not limited to children's attendance, parent check-in, registration forms, health needs and conditions) as requested.
- May prepare resources and activities to be used in the groups session(s) or workshop(s) under the direction of the RECE's.
