Position: Senior IT Systems Engineer:

Location: Edmonton, AB

Reports To: Manager, IT (Infrastructure & Security)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to support, manage, and maintain our enterprise computing environment. This role provides technical leadership, ensures operational stability, and contributes to shaping IT strategy. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure, with a proven ability to lead, collaborate, and deliver results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the IT Systems Administration team.
  • Plan and implement IT infrastructure projects in alignment with businessgoals.
  • Support and maintain enterprise systems, including servers, storage, virtualization, and Microsoft platforms.
  • Develop and document IT policies, processes, and procedures while fostering cross-training.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, operations, and security teams to align solutions.
  • Establish and track IT performance metrics (KPI/SLA).
  • Participate in incident response, problem management, and change management processes.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in enterprise-level IT environments.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator/Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications).
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, SAN administration, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and enterprise-level infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
